Hyperhidrosis ( Excessive Sweating) Treatments With Botox ®

What is hyperhidrosis?

Hyperhidrosis is the excessive production of sweat, a condition that can be both embarrassing and uncomfortable.

At TW aesthetics we offer treatments for Hyperhidrosis that utilise Botox® which can provide a safe and effective treatment that usually takes only a few minutes to administer, with results that can last for months.

Most experts believe that primary hyperhidrosis is caused by problems with the sympathetic nervous system in that the brain mistakenly sends messages to stimulate the sweat glands (although there is no need to cool the body), hyperhidrosis can be induced by stress, heat, hormones or because a family has a genetic disposition to it.

How does it work?

Botox® can be used to disable the eccrine and apocrine glands and prevent them from producing and secreting sweat from the body. Small doses of Botox are injected in a grid-pattern to the affected area which blocks the actions of the nerves that supply the sweat glands, which can prevent the glands from producing sweat.

What is involved?

Tiny injections of Botox® are injected into the affected area in a grid pattern. The treatment usually takes no longer than 20 mins Excessive perspiration normally diminishes noticeably within 48 hours and results can last from 6 to 12 months,
