How Does Sunekos® Eyes Work?

As we age, our natural production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid gradually decreases. The skin around the eyes is particularly thin and delicate, so these changes can become noticeable relatively early.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

For optimum results, a course of 3–4 treatments is recommended.

Your individual treatment plan will depend on the condition of your skin and the concerns being treated and will be discussed during your consultation.

Improvements develop progressively as the skin begins to produce new collagen and elastin. Maintenance treatments can then be carried out to help prolong the results.

What Does the Treatment Involve?

Sunekos® is carefully injected into the skin around the eye area using a very fine needle.

The treatment is relatively quick and generally well tolerated.

Small bumps, redness, tenderness, mild swelling or occasional bruising may occur following treatment. These effects are temporary and usually settle within a few days.

Most patients can return to their normal activities shortly afterwards.

Although both treatments can be used to improve the appearance of the under-eye area, they work in very different ways.

Sunekos® Eyes focuses on improving the quality of the skin. It is particularly suited to fine lines, crepey or thinning skin, dehydration and loss of elasticity.

Tear trough filler is primarily used to restore volume where hollowness or loss of support beneath the eyes is contributing to a tired or sunken appearance.

Not everyone is suitable for tear trough filler, and adding volume is not always the answer.

During your consultation, the eye area will be carefully assessed to determine which treatment is most appropriate for you.

Both Sunekos® and polynucleotides are regenerative injectable treatments that can be used to improve the delicate skin around the eyes, but they work differently.
